    Don't forget the search facility. Plus similar threads are always listed at the bottom of the page. Compare to my eagle shown here:

    The German Army switched from insignia on dark green "badge cloth" quality cloth, to badges made from plain Feldgrau cloth for reasons of camo. These more subdued insignias were plainer and showed up less in the field. There was also an economic aspect to the change, cheaper dyes etc.

    I do like these eagles because they stand out and wanted one as it looks like it matches my fathers, from 1942. Although I could be wrong in terms of it being a BeVo but it does look quite detailed and the fact that it conforms to the uniform fabric as opposed to being stiffer/straighter.
