The lack of shoulder boards and the zippers and thin D rings,as well as the total lack of any markings would tell me that it is post-war and likely not military at all...

Definitely a civilian coat.
The cut of officers' leather coats followed the style of the textile greatcoat (two rows of metal buttons, provisions for shoulder boards, a rear half-belt etc.); this one looks nothing like it.
