German aviator cap?

I bought this cap at a flea market in Germany. The owner said it was a "driving hat". Recently, I saw one on Ebay, described as German WW2 winter aviator cap that looked very similar to what I have. My cap has no markings, but the snaps have "PRYM" on them. What is it?

I believe it is a Ww 1 German flight helmet,with the correct PRYM 4 snaps
