Tunic looks pretty good, even at a longer glance... of course, I'm far from an authority on cloth items.

I agree with Fred. To me it looks put together (eagle and tabs especially) post war.

but happy to be proven wrong by those with more knowledge.

Are you saying the tunic itself is postwar?

Probably need more and better pics of certain areas, backside of the collar, etc.

No but it is hard for me (a non-expert) to tell from these pictures. But based on what I've learned from our own JPhillp's book "Fieldbluse" it resembles an M42 tunic. I would suspect it is a private purchase for an officer as it does have the piping and green M36 style collar. What I was saying is that the eagle and tabs appear to have been added (postwar).

Look forward to hear from others with more knowledge however.

Edit: An yes. Forgot to say. Better pictures are needed. Close up of the collar, underside of the collar, piping, etc.

See. This always happens to me. I try to write a reasoned response explaining my thoughts, re-read it, edit it, and review it again....and then someone (William in this case) pops in and sums it up so nicely in a single sentence......LoL!
