    Hello all,

I cam across this on ebay today, hence the covered swastikas, and was wondering if these were ever made by hand? I have only ever seen these sleeve insignia as machine woven. Any opinions would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Apparently these are being reproduced in Pakistan. Not near high enough quality embroidery.
Compare with this one for sale on WAF.

To hand embroider such items would take about 3-4 weeks each.. Not a simple task and the amount of these would have taken an army of their own IMO..G

If the shown one is okay, I cannot tell for 100%, but the question in post 1 was:
if these were ever made by hand?

Often it is said just only woven did exist, but that is not correct.
    I do have a price-list for army insignia with on page 8 article-number 1594:
Fahnenträger (Dienst), which was woven and Fahnenträger (extra), which was
hand-embroidered (handgestickter Kunstseide). The last one was quite expensive:
12,- Rm in contrary to the woven version 1,40 Rm.
    The price-list was number 112 from November 1937 from J.F. Riedeler K.G.
    from Heilbronn.

The shown one anyway is not from Kunstseide.
