    Hello.

IMHO this is a Reichsheer button. It is made of a steel material. Most Third Reich buttons are aluminum. The above responses were correct in that it is a shoulder board button for the 1st Company.

    Hello Punkrietaja,

Here are some picture of the buttons that I am talking about.

These first ones are from the Reichsheer. They are made of a steel or heavier metal and have makers initials on the backs. They usually go from 1-14 from what I have seen. In roman numerals I-III. I have not seen any higher ones

This set of buttons were used by the Heer and are made out of aluminum. You see these in aluminum color on waffenrocks and painted on very early field blouses. I have seen them go from 1-18 and Roman numerals I-III. I have not seen an IV or V.

This third set of buttons are political buttons. They are exactly like the above made both in steel and aluminum with numbers ranging from 1-52,that I have seen. The only real difference is that they are RZM marked on the back.

Sorry for the lousy photography on the last one but you can see the RZM if you look.
