Heer EM/NCO Breast Eagle help on basic questions
may i ask for help on 4 questions?
is this a DAK (Deutsche Afrika Korps) breast eagle due to the brownish colour? what is the difference between bevo and flatwire?
has it something to do with "silver threads" on the eagle? will that make this an flatwire eagle?

This is a first pattern enlisted man's waffenrock flatwire eagle. It has nothing to do with the dak.

A flatwire eagle has silver colored thread used during the weaving process. A BeVo eagle uses only thread and no wire.
Here is an example of the first pattern Heer flatwire and Bevo weave eagle together. The flatwire eagles come with a lot of different shades of grey and brown which makes them interesting to collect. The Heer Bevo eagle was white on grey.
The second pattern Heer Breast eagle was more standardized and much better looking. This pattern of eagle was used in different facing colors throughout the war.

Yes, The waffenrock was the dress or parade uniform. The BeVo eagles were worn on the feldbluse or field uniform.
