Heer Infanterie Officers Feldbluse.

Hi Guys, as we have had a question about Officers tunics today and I don't think I have ever showed this one on the forum before, I thought I would show it now.

The tunic is privately tailored by "Eder & Sohn, Nurnburg" and is a high quality product. Dated 1940. It is fully lined throughout the body of the tunic with rayon. The sleeves are lined with the usual pin striped material. There is a internal half belt and a dagger slit and hanger. The tunic is named to an officer named "Winkler"

The insignia is all original and not resewn. The shoulder boards bear numerials for Inf Regt 48, part of the 12th Inf Division.

This officer was well decorated as evidenced by the long ribbon bar loops and loops to the breast pocket. The EKII ribbon has a nice faded orange shade to it. This compares to a much brighter red shade underneath where the daylight has not penetrated.

In the top pocket I discovered a small fragment of RK ribbon tucked deep into one of the pocket corners.

It looks wonderful , and a lovely top quality Heer breast eagle also , i love it !!

Hi Guys, thanks for the kind comments.

Actually the pics are perhaps a little bit deceptive, as the jacket does display some wear. The (inside lining) arm pit areas are well worn.

The "48" numerials display different amounts of gilding being left intact due to the gilt finish being absorbed by the zinc.

I forgot to add that it came complete with a screwback EKI, not shown in these pics, but shown separatly on the forum elsewhere.

Would be nice to identify the owner, could have belonged to Oberstleutnant Kurt Winkler Panzergrenadier-Regiment 101 won the RK in 1945? An old jacket with previous units insignia. Too much speculation i know but....

Hi Donnie, nothing wrong with this kind of speculation

I have owned the tunic since about 1990. I have in the past tried to research the name. When the jacket was tailored he was a Ln.

The fragment of RK ribbon I only discovered 2 years ago (!) during one of my periodic inspections to check for any deterioration, moths etc.

If anyone could add any more detail on the officers name, please feel free!

Hopefully Kurt Winkler was an ex member of Inf Reg 48

Nice tunic Ade, Gren Regt 101 were part of 14 Infanterie ( Panzer Grenadier ) Division when Kurt Winkler won his RK.

Winkler was commanding Gren Regt 11of 14 Panzer Grenadier Div from 29/3/1945 until 30/4/1945 !!

Here are a few more detail pics.

The "Extra Fein" quality buttons are by Assmann.

I have taken a pic to show the different colours due to fading of the EKII ribbon.

Note the use of the dagger clip with RZM marking. This a political contract item but used by trifty makers on military tunics.
