    Hi Paul,

Thanks a ton for the lead on that book. I may very well buy a copy.
Unfortunately Heinz Senft is the one brother that is missing the Wehrpass (unlike the others) or a Soldbuch so I cannot trace the exact route of his service. However, the promotion document from Festungs-Infanterie-Bataillon 1404 shows that he was alive after Bagration although how or why he got to that unit I do not know. He may very well have been wounded again and no longer 100% physically capable and thus the assignment to such a unit. Lexikon has a mere one sentence about that unit.
"Aufgestellt im August 1944 im Wehrkreis XX als Heerestruppe. Das Bataillon wurde in Ostpreußen eingesetzt." Raised in August of 1944 in army district 20 as an army asset. The battalion was put into action in East Prussia.

    Anyway, enjoy the tunic!
