Hi George, clearly some of this group is made up. He could not have been awarded a 1914 EKII and a 1939 EKII. He would have got the 1939 bar instead. Once I see things like this I find it an instant turn off.

Nothing says "fake" from these pics, but the cap is very tired. I would invest $3000 elsewhere.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi Ade,

The owner said he has sold EK2 bar .
He just wanted to have a good display, that is why he has updated the tunic with this bar.

    Cheers

    George

    Hi George, fair enough.

I would discount the cap was worthless: so you need to add up the price of the greatcoat, tunic, dress belt & lanyard and breeches.

$3000 is to me £1930 here in the UK. Certainly no bargain.

Some info here on Inf Regt 8:

Infanterieregiment 8 - Lexikon der Wehrmacht

As I said before, no huge red flags BUT I do notice that the breast eagle is not shown. I would want to see this to check for any replacement. Always ask for good close up's on any insignia when buying a tunic.

    Cheers, Ade.

The quality of the photos is also abysmal. Sure, people can say they aren't great photographers but it doesn't take a genuis to work out NOT to take shots with the subject half in shadow and half out. Also, auto focus does a great job even in the hands of a fool so there's no excuse for blurry photos and with the magic of the digital age, even a gumby can take a hundred shots and eventually jag a good one.

    Hi Ade,
I've asked and received some pictures of the eagle.
Looks OK to me.. We had a deal for 2000 USD including an armband
The guy said he has no camera, only his phone, that is why the pictures are not so good.
But a friend of mine told me that this is an SS tunic, converted to WH.
I asked why he thinks like that, he said because of those small metall buttons on the upper pockets ( right under the eagle ) and the one under the collar, near by the first tunic button.
I'm not good in SS, but always wanted something real SS.
And for me it's very hard to tell is it a privately purchased tunic SS or WH, because they look exacly the same to me, but the insignia.

Cheers and thanks for your time,

    George

Hi George, the small "press studs" or "poppers" under the pocket flaps are not an SS feature. Any tailor made tunic could have them if the owner wished. It just gives the tunic a smater look.

The eagle appears OK, but the pics are poor.

    Cheers, Ade.

Poor pics, but the tunic and coat look fine to me.
I haven't seen before this type of aguillete. Could it be a Bundeswehr piece?
Also ask of what material is the black band on the Schirmmütze made. I mean the one around the cap were the wreath and cockade are attached to. From the photo it looks like leather??

Actually, it looks to me as if the cap band is completely gone and what we see here is the layer of stiff, black, lacquered cardboard found underneath.

The aiguillette looks like the normal 1934-pattern adjutant's cords to me. (Although I admittedly don't know much about aiguillettes and cannot comment on authenticity.)

really? Wow i have never witnessed anothercap in such condition to see what is inside.
Thanks for pointing that out. Then as Ade said the value of it, must be really low.
