Gentleman
Need some help on this Heer summer tunic.
Does it look original pre 1945? What is his rank and what group was he in?
Any and all opinions will be appreciated.
Thanks
Michael

His rank is Hauptwachtmeister in a signals unit, also known in the German army as " Der Spiess ",the spear, this was a rank equivalent to a top sargent and is shown by the two stripes around his cuffs. Here is a pic of a Luftwaffe Spiess.

Does anyone know if this tunic could be a Heer Africa Corps Tunic, the color is a sand color ?
thanks
Michael
Hi Michael, certainly not Afrikakorps.
These private purchase tunics were worn in Southern France, Italy, the Balkans, Southern Russia, etc.
Cheers, Ade.
Hello Gentlemen,
Tough to say without handling it, but IMO this one has a good change to have been made with french army cloth
Nice one...
Thanks
