Article about: Hi, grateful for any comments on this one. My observations so far are that the Spiess piston rings show less wear than the other insignia. I suppose that could indicate that it was the weare

I own an HG Flak Kanonier Bluse and find your example to be spot on. It all looks good to me. NH

Thanks to all for taking a look and commenting. It was a bit of an impulse buy, recently I've only been looking for a HG visor, saw one on Ratisbon's (Klaus Butschek's) recent auction in Germany, but then also spotted this fliegerbluse in the same auction. I knew who owned it and had admired (lusted after ) it for a while, and just couldn't resist any longer....

When I find time I'll put it on a mannequin with the visor etc and post some more pictures.

    Best regards, Paul

Indeed, a very nice example. It is a transitional period Feldbluse. You mentioned that you were seeking a Schirmmütze or visor cap. What color piping are you considering? HG white or Flak/Artillery red? Note the Litzen are piped in red. I have had trouble figuring out which color would be appropriate for a Feldbluse/Mütze combination with this example? NH

Hi Neil, I bought a HG/ RGG visor at the same auction I bought this fliegerbluse at. It's on the forum here:-

Luftwaffe Hermann Goring (RGG) EM visor by G A Hoffmann

It's my understanding that the HG used white piping on their EM/ NCO visor caps for the duration of the war. After April 1943, had the owner of the blouse continued to wear it (i.e not killed/ taken as POW/ promoted to Officer etc) he would have switched to plain white collar patches, and swapped his white piped boards for red-piped boards, but the cap would stay the same, from what I've read on the subject. I have to say the uniform regulations for the RGG/ HG are not at all straightforward!

    Hope that helps.

    Best regards, Paul

Safely landed. Sent very quickly by Ratisbons (and Fedex!), very well packed too. Excellent service all round.

Here it is on a torso with the cap I got in the same auction, along with some 'friends'.

    Regards, Paul

I am with Ade Paul, superb!

Your new cap looks fabulous with the jacket too, I was drooling over your photos on the WAF as well

Here is another HG Other Ranks/NCO's visor cap for a bit of 'show & tell', this one is by Robert Lubstein.

    Cheers
