Hi Paul, don't dimiss it so easily.
While the tress edging is not standard, I honestly think it is good. There is one detail found in the lettering which is found on originals: note the last letter "G". It is slightly smaller than the others.
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks Ade for the reply, it does not show in the pics but the tress edgeing has a silver fleck to it and has two gold runs of stitching bordering the edges top and bottom,
does this alter your opinion on this??
im totally clueless and forgot i had it until i read a post on the ss forum on cuff titles!
thanks for any help on this Ade....
Hi Paul, as I say, it is very non standard, re the tresse pattern. But I like it. If possible show some pics taken in natural daylight.
Have you ever showed the letter opener on the forum?
Cheers, Ade.
I will Ade thanks, as to the letter opener i cant bloody find it!!! it had a black handle with an eagle on the top and swasticas across the handle, i fear as a ten year old the dagger got took out and played with whilst the cuff title got stuffed in a wooden box and forgotten about!! it may well turn up as most of my childhood stuff is still in my parents attic, both items came from the my schools elderly cleaner, Harold, god bless him....
had this title out again today and realized the tress edging is very cold to touch and have now realized it is stitched in an aliminium type thread!
any one seen one of these before and know of a value?
The pattern is that worn by NCO's.
The tresse style is, as I mentioned before, non standard, but original in my eyes.
Value: I would only be able to guess: £300 plus ?
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks for the replys Ade!
Been searching the web and cant find pics like this one any where......
