Hi Dave, I think it stands a very good chance.
Cheers, Ade.
thanks Ade just hope it looks good when it arrives , cheers dave
You luckey dog
well its landed and looks to have some desert in the back,,
Hi Dave, now having seen the new photos, this cuff title now raises several concerns with me.
First off, it is not made from blue/grey wool, which any regulation cuff title would be. I have never seen or heard of one made from cotton twill. Also the thread used in the lettering is not grey either.
The presence of all this sand in the back does not make any possible sence to me. Just how would it get there?
Sorry, but I would pass on it if offered to me.
Cheers, Ade.
hi Ade ,thanks for reply i appreciate it, i spoke to seller and he said he will refund me,he also said hes had it since he was 14 and is going to send me a copy of a page from some book that says there was 1 made from twill, i will post pic if he sends it, cheers dave
I believe this variant is period and was worn on the tropical uniform. There is also a little known variation of this cufftitle made on a black wool base. i know of only two examples. A friend of mine got one years ago in a 101st Airborne vet's souvenir grouping. I bought one from the sister of a 101st Airborne pathfinder's souvenirs back in the mid 70"s It came with a set of standard pink piped panzer tabs with two Luftwaffe gull rank birds on each tab. There was also a cigarette pouch with two gull attached. It seems the black cufftitle was worn by instructors at the H G training facility in Holland. Both cufftitles came out of Operation Market Garden.
