Default identifying a plane via tail or flight number?

    Hi,
    Good morning!
I think the number D-ASIS was the flight number of a Deutsche Lufthansa plane flying to the Far East in 1938. It's origin maybe was Berlin, end of August and it took several stops at Persia, Karachi, Rangoon, Siam, Indochina, Manila and Hong Kong, then returning back home...added some images...
Can one identify the type of plane and maybe learn more about the trip? rather long strange flight...?

D-ASIS is not a flight number, but an aircraft registration number.

This was a Ju 52 plane built in 1935. She crashed at Guizhou on 12 March 1939. Source:

    Superb information!
I presume the holder of the passport was drafted into service later in the war...after 1942 (last entry is for this year).
