I just acquired this PIECE of a (cuff title/tally ribbon?) & the post card of the Nazi Martyr Schlageter. I was wondering if anybody can tell me if this is part of a cuff title, or is it part of a tally ribbon worn on Naval hats. It seems Herr Schlageter had both a Naval ship, and a Luftwaffe fighter arm named after him. Thanks for any help!

Hi Bob, I am very open to correction on this, but I think it is a RAD cuff title.

    Cheers, Ade.

I went to a gun show here in Florida, and a BIG NAZI MEDAL DEALER has one just like mine! I wonder what that means? Some sort of strange coincidence? I've never seen one before, now I know where there are two cut short!

I believe it is an SA CT from Niederrhein Gruppe...and there is another one over on GDC!

I made a photocopy in the mid 1980s of a Cuff title reference book,
and it looks nothing like yours ,the S is in classic german script.
I will not post it, in case I infringe copyright, but if you want to get
in touch,I can email you a copy.
    Regards Mike

The cufftitle is the 2nd pattern and more commonly found example. The Honor Title "Schlageter" ws awarded to SA Standarte 59, Gruppe Niederrhein.

In my opinion the Schlageter cuff title in post 1 is for the SA. Later
(in October 1940) this one was abolished.

Info about Schlageter cuff title requested
from the magazine "Die deutsche Uniform" from September 1934.
Note there also exists a cuff title with Albert Leo Schlageter (left row,
    lowest image).
The name Schlageter was granted by Hitler himself, possibly in 1929. There
was a lot of confusion with the both names, which is obvious from a letter
from the SA High-Command (Führungsamt, Abteilung F1). They did not
    have sufficient information.
Albert Leo was granted per June 1, 1933 to the SA-group Südwest. Lörrach
    was at Baden.

Info about Schlageter cuff title requested
from the "Mitteilungsblatt der RZM" from August 25, 1934. The both
forms are also mentioned here: see 39 (Düsseldorf) and 142 (Lörrach).
The SA versions do not have colored edges.

One should note that honor-names granted were visible at the box for
the "Deutschland Erwache"-Standard. To confuse even more: in March 1932
the name Schlageter was also granted for an SA-Sturm-flag, specifically for
3/L from Munich. Various men of this group did belong to the old company
of Schlageter. They were NOT allowed to wear a cuff title.
