Hi, just an FYI. I found an example of an M44 blouse (also in green 'Italian cloth') with the eagle applied before the lining in the book "German Army uniforms of World War II" by Wade Krawczyk, (published by Windrow and Greene Ltd), published just over 20 years ago in 1995. The author notes that it was "looted from a clothing factory near Hannover in 1945, and appears exactly as it did when awaiting issue".

I've had this book for quite a few years, and have 'drooled' over this jacket many times. However, it's only recently that I noticed that the the eagle was also sewn before the lining on this example.

    Regards, Paul
