Re: luffwaffe tunic with camp insignia
Hi CS, while original in the sum of it's parts, I am not crazy about the sewing to the breast eagle at all. That would call into question the rest.
I have seen this for sale for some time in the UK.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: luffwaffe tunic with camp insignia
Althought I must say, the construction of the collar tabs seem to be correct to period.

Re: luffwaffe tunic with camp insignia
I have no doubts on the parts, my only concern would be when they came together. In hand inspection needed. But my big concern is that breast eagle stitching.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: luffwaffe tunic with camp insignia
I agree. This was my concern as well. If you don't mind me asking, what do you think of the construction? Post war? If so, wouldn't there be evidence of the original stitching? Thanks agian.

Re: luffwaffe tunic with camp insignia
Maybe a Luftwaffe member on detachment....who knows!
On the assumption that it could be a original piece, maybe this Luftwaffe member had a specialist trade and was detached for a time to a camp, and was required to update his insignia....from my experience in the military, being a transport corps member, if I were posted to an infantry battalion, I had to wear that particular units Lanyard and colour patch instead of my corps ones....just a hypothesis...
