Luftwaffe Armband?

Following the death of my late grandfather, we found this tucked away amongst his possessions. Following a little research I believe it to be a Luftwaffe insignia, but seems perhaps a little short to be an armband. It measures approximately 27cm x 16cm, and appears to have some gore stains on it! (ewww)

Anyone here able to help me identifying what it might be exactly, and of course if it has any value

It is definately Luftwaffe and looks to be part of something bigger. Maybe it was torn from a flag that could have been draped on the interior wall of a building somewhere. Just a guess

It appears to have been cut from a Luftwaffe sports shirt. No idea what it is worth.

If you turn it over, is there a black triangle around the eagle? It looks to me to be a Luftwaffe sport t-shirt eagle.
