Luftwaffe Armband

Hey guys,

I have this luftwaffe armband in my collection and was wondering what it was used for, or if its authentic. I have had it for a while and I believe it was used by luftwaffe personnel.

Any information is beneficial.

I have never seen an armband like that posted.

This is an example of the original Luftwaffe flight crew armband.

The use, to which Bob aludes to, was for wear by shot down Luftwaffe aircrew. By 1943 large numbers of Allied pilots and aircrew were being shot down over the Reich, sometimes to a hostile reception by civilians. These armbands were introduced to ensure people realised who's side the wearer was on.
