Hello,
I have always believed it to be the highest class of the award. I have seen them unpiped, piped in white rope and piped in silver and gold.
Fred
Hey Fred,
Thanks for the info, I too have seen them in white rope, this is the first gold I've seen and I've yet to meet Mr silver.
Cheers.
Kev.
Fred is correct.
Hi there. Although I don't have one, there is a certificate "The gold cord for driving personnel of the Air force" (Goldkordel zum Armeltatigskeitsabzeichen des Kraftfahrerpersonels der Luftwaffe). It was awarded to drivers that distinguished themselves by a higher level of proficiency among their peers. Quite a rare doc, other grades were available I believe. With gold being the highest. Hope that helps a bit. Stewy

If you go to the above link you can see one in wear. Below the standard KBA on his sleeve. What grade it is I can't tell. Stewy
