Luftwaffe Eagle?

Hello, my first post

I found this Eagle insignia during a loft clear out, my first thought is that it's a replica, it appears to be made from some kind of light alloy, the wing span of the eagle is 68mm. Thought I put it before the experten on here to get a few valued opinions. The detail of the feathers is very well defined. The reverse has evidence of some mounting pins. I have no idea why it has a hole in the wing!

Hi, it looks like a luft pith helmet eagle, which is why it faces the wrong way. I know you get aluminium Heer and KM pith insignia, so you probably get it for luft as-they did cap eagles in aluminium.

The hole is probaly for mounting as a souveneer, though thats a guess.

Looks like a summer tunic breast eagle with a broken pin. No idea what the hole is for though

i would go with luft pith eagle since it is stamped

Sorry to disagree John, but as I said the eagle faces the wrong way for any luft eagle except a pith eagle, it is also the right size.
Here are two luft piths with eagles to show the direction they face, the summer faces the same way as a normal tunic eagle or a cap eagle.
