The following shirts were used by the Luftwaffe:
A mottled blue shirt with a detachable collar.
A collarless white tricot shirt (for NCOs and other ranks only). This shirt could only be worn underneath the Fliegerbluse, Drillichbluse and Waffenrock and only together with the collar liner.
A cloth shirt with attached collar. This was introduced in 1943 and replaced the tricot shirt. Initially, it was manufactured in a grey-green color for the "Herman Göring" division, the field formations, for mountain service, paratroops and airborne troops and in a blue-grey color for all other personnel.
The blue-grey shirt was discontinued with an order of 19th Sept. 1944, with the grey-green shirt to be universally worn by all personnel.
A dark blue shirt worn by flying personnel after ca. 1942. It came in long- and short sleeve versions.
A light brown shirt with attached collar for wear with the tropical uniform. This also came both in long- and short sleeve versions.
Privately purchased white shirts of various types for walking out- and evening dress. Officers could also wear white shirts for office duty and for all occasions at which only officers were present.
The tie was always black.
(Info as per Angolia & Schlicht's ""Uniforms and Traditions ..."
