I always find this type of item sacrilege, what a waste of a good tunic for a trophy hunter, imho.

The reality of combat made it near impossible for a ground soldier to carry a tunic as a souvenir. Over the years, I have found many of these pieces cut from a tunic came from the field of combat from a fallen foe.Sixty seven years ago,soldiers did not look at any of this of being of any great value or importance.
