Hello the Tunic collector, have you a good feeling with this Officer tunic ?
thank you all !
Sebastien.
Hi Sebastien, the tunic itself appears good. However, I would say all the insignia is replaced. The brest eagle for sure. The collar piping is not good and is too thick.
Cheers, Ade.
thanks you Adrian,
if the collar piping is not good the tunic is not orignal also ? no ? or piping restored ? it's possible but very strange if yes...
thanks again
I am sure the tunic itself is good, but the rest of it is restored. Better pics would confirm this I think?
Cheers, Ade.
The eagle is replaced, but piping sometimes could be vary, and I don't see that is the problem

The only obvious thing I can see is the replaced eagle. The shoulder boards look period applied. As stated before, this is a tailored tunic. I have no problems with the variation of the collar piping. It is not the standard, but I have seen it before. The collar tabs are most likely period replaced(due to promotion).
Before I would commit to this tunic, but would DEFINITELY want to see much better photos and perhaps an inhand exam. But... based upon what I see here, I have no problems with it!
It appears to be a really nice example.
I agree much better pics are certainly needed.
But the heavy fading of this tunic due to light damage would bother me. Do the collar tabs etc match in equal degree of fading? Was this fading due to wear or bad postwar display storage? These are all questions that any potential buyer needs to satisfy him/herself about.
Cheers, Ade.
thank you again all,
Yes, it's a good one, I think
Adrian, if you have a doubt about this tunic, I would like more detail also, many tunic are denazified and restored since the last war, I am always anxious with these Luftwaffe officer tunic because, just after the war the German army had the same model...
Hi Sebastien, I have no doubts about the tunic itself, just partly restored I think.
It would be nice to know the makers name on the label just for interest.
Cheers, Ade.
