From my Dad"s return bag of relics, 3rdArmy, last stop Berlin. I think this is a 1941 vintage, made by Synhart,in fairly good condition for its age. There are other items I need ID on ,and will post soon. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Nice looking piece nvvet.
Now the $64000 dollar question..........does it still work? I would like to think so!
Looking forward to seeing what else the old man brought back!

Hi nnvet,
The watch is not a 'Synhart', that does not exist, it's a Hanhart pilots chronograph. This model has 17 jewels and was manufactured from 1938-1942 when the design was changed with a ridged bezel and cheaper metals and electro plating used due to war time restrictions.
This model was popular with many Luftwaffe aces including the great Erich Hartmann. Today, with it's original strap(should be brown) it is worth a tidy sum.
Regards, Ned.

We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.

Thank you both for your replies. Big Ned,your right it is a Hanhart, and the band is brown. Jimpy, watch worked about 20 yeras ago,I"m not going to mess with it now, afraid of breaking the main spring,I keep the screw back off the case,so it dont freeze together.
NVVT if I was you I would have it cleaned and wear it .
