looks fine.
Thank you.
any other thoughts?
The breast eagle is positioned to high. Normally, the botton
of the swastika touches the button hole threads.........

Steve.
Interesting, would that be a sign of a reproduction? Thank you.
Not necessarily. Someone has placed it high is all - possibly
to enable access to the pocket.........
Regards,
Steve.
Very interesting. Thanks again Steve.
Looks like a nice quality private purchase light weight sommer tunic. Made of white ribbed cotton. It has the usual lay-downcollar, four silver
coloured buttons in the front and the typical four pleated pockets with pocketflaps. Are the buttons removable?
Looks like sew in shoulder boards. Heavy bright silver bullion wire shoulderboards, with dark blue (?) wool underlay and "golden" medical insignia,
witch indicates the rank of Major in the medical dep. The collar has Major collartabs with one gull and oak leaf each (Major), they are attached with press buttons.
Above the right breastpocket a metal breasteagle witch looks like an "Assmann". As Walkwolf said, the breast eagle is positioned to high. The bottom
of the swastika usually touches the button hole threads. I added a picture of one of my Luftwaffe summer tunics as a reference. If this is done post-war or
not is difficult to see with these photos. You have to look at the thread that is used and how it is sewn on. See if the thread is similar to that used elsewhere on
the tunic etc. Ask if you can get a photo of the loops with the eagle off...
The tunic semes to be in very good condition with no holes, rips, tears or mothing, but it does have some slight staining..
hmm...
Did not like how the buttons for the collartabs were attached, they dont really look professionally done IMO. It is possible that this uniform has been put together
post-war. This may also explain why the eagle is attached to high and slightly off (to the center of the tunic)..
Ask if you can get pictures of the loops to the eagle, and the inside of the jacket, preferably inside out.
Anyone else have any other suggestions?
Best regards from Norway!
That would be a good place to start - looking for - or at the
loops for the eagle. IMO, the badge is likely pinned
directly to the cloth.........

Steve.
