Luftwaffe tunic

Article about: Silly Question perhaps, but how long after the war did the zig zag stitching under the collar carry on for?. That was sometimes the first thing to look for

Can't believe some pillock took off the collar tabs without taking off the breast eagle and there by ruining it completely.

    Hanger looks post war imho.

The removed collar tabs look way too long to be WWII Luftwaffe and the eagle looks to be a stinker IMHO. Also, I'm not a fan of the cap or the eagle on it either, though not my area so maybe I'm wrong on it.

IMO the tunic is post war with an addition of the beast eagle to make it more convincing. Jerry is right, the ghosting of the collar tabs show that previously there were not any TR tabs attached there. That shape doesn't match the shape of TR tabs. I have also never seen that particular fabric on LW uniforms or any other TR era uniforms.

Gary......The usual trick is to make a wartime tunic from a post war "Bundeswehr" jacket......but this jacket is not Bundeswehr !
    Prost ! Steve.

Jerryb, are you sure that bird is not a vulture instead of an eagle,it has an awfully long neck!!! Seriously though this really is just a stage prop of a tunic,no ones going to escape from camp wearing this one!

Pocket shape is not right for German and the shoulder boards are generic attached type - not at all like any German uniform type I know. This is some kind of ginned up cadet or school jacket made to look like WWII. Pockets look British or US. NH
