Two possibilites that come to mind are the 2nd model NSFK badge for pilots of powered aircraft [Abzeichen for Motorflugzeugführer] and the Deutsches Schwerathletik-Sportabzeichen [German Heavy Athletics Sports Badge]. Both had horizontal pins.
