Mountain Troops Oberleutnant tunic
This tunic just popped up with one of the local militaria dealers here in Melbourne, (EK Militaria), and it sure looks like a nice unfiddled with
tunic to me. Tunic does have a tailors label inside the collar, sorry I didn't get any interior photos, but thought I would share the photos with
the forum. The 98th Gebirgs. Regt was a part of the 1st Gebirgs Division, and I think it was this regiment that was implicated in the shooting

I was right, it was this unit that was involved in the massacre, just did a search on the internet....
German Regiments involved in the slaughter of Italians in Cephalonia….
The executions are described in the diary of Alfred Richter, a corporal in a German Alpine regiment, who stumbled on their bodies.
"All bear the signs of a shot to the head, so they were killed by the 98th [Regiment] after they had surrendered." he wrote.

a complete list of German land units fighting at Cefalonia should be:
966th Fortress Regiment (909th and 910th Battalion)
III/98th Gebirgsjager battalion
III/79th Mountain artillery battalion
a battery of II/79th
I/724th Jager battalion
54th Gebirgsjager battalion
a battery of 201st Stug Battalion
Thats a great tunic, Im a fan of EK militaria but they do take the liberty of our isolation to inflate their prices.
