Thanks for the nice words, colt45! I guess us new to the hobby are all slightly concerned about authenticity until the positive confirmation comes our way!
Best from Glenn!
Absolutely, but some collectors (especially on "the maroon site") have created collector-invented myths about such reinforcement stitching at the backside of the collar (this forum alluded to is very preoccupied with such behavior it seems). Fact: the "zig-zag" reinforcement stitching is a typical trait found on many issued tunics, as this tunic originally was - but not all. On privately purchased tunics of higher quality this kind of stitching is more seldom seen (not needed I would think), but you will find them with such stitching also.
In short it is a very poor indicator of authenticity to put it mildly. And it can't be too difficult to replicate either for a skilled person I would think.
Just so no confusion arises from my post; the tunic shown here is of course authentic.

Kenneth

I appreciate the record being set straight. Thank you for your time, Kenneth., Glenn
There was no record to set straight here as "colt45" stated no false information - there is just this tendency among some collectors to put way too much weight on this above mentioned aspect without having solid reason to do so - so I just wanted to clarify that for more inexperienced collectors like yourself.

Kenneth
