Congratulations on adding a spectacular piece to your collection. Although not SS, I believe a regimental flag such as yours fits in to any collection. There was a dealer selling Pakistani made copies. Compared to the originals, they did not hold a candle. At least he was selling them as copies. Years ago, I bought an infantry 4 x4 complete with ring, tassles and top. The top was fractured likely damaged when it was tossed on the pile in the Soviet victory parade. It was a great piece identified to a unit that fought in the Ukraine which was the source of the piece.

The WH had more branches and therefore more colors. All of these Standards are a work of art. There are many hours of labor put into these as they represented the pride of the regiment. Well Bob I'm also collecting Wehrmacht (Armed Forces) now so I could expand my exhibit themes. I have nice Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine collections. My WH is a little behind because I don't find too many attractive pieces to collect. I mostly pick up pieces for the exhibits and have two of them a year: one in July and the other in October. I'd like to add more but I don't travel very well anymore so I need local and one that isn't scheduled on top of the two that I have. The July show is in Richmond, about 100 miles away. I spend Friday and Saturday nights at the event hotel. But I don't want to add any more travel shows. You can find a number of my Wehrmacht uniforms now on this forum.
