Nice start. Once you find your focus you will take off quickly. You cannot spend too much money on reference material. When I started in the 1970's there was scant reference books, it was mostly school of hard knocks so take advantage of the books available. Regardsless of the price of the book, the good books will save you hundreds, if not thousands in the long run. I also kept my first piece and never sold it. It is nice to have a milestone.

I agree! Books are/can be expensive - But they will save you a Lot of $$$ over time!
It is best to buy the books first and then once you have references you can begin to collect what ever field is of interest to you.
My library consists of a Lot of original WW 2 German publications, both books and magazines and just about everything published since the war in my specifik fields of interest.
