Need Help. Great Uncle in Wehrmacht Uniform.

Article about: Hi all, please help me identify branch and grade of my great uncle in his Wehrmacht uniform. It was always thought that he was a regular infantry man or civil defense. But this - at least to

    As Bob Coleman said, he's an NCO in the second photograph, thus it was taken later.

    His rank in this wartime picture is now Feldwebel (or the equivalent; for example, in the artillery branch the rank was called Wachtmeister).

    The other man next to him - whose left sleeve is visible at the edge of the photo - is a private-ranked motor vehicle driver of the Luftwaffe.

    Yes, as above, it appears the Gefreiter to the right is wearing a LW specialty patch for driver. Any chance you can get an uncropped version? NH
