Need help ID-ing Division info of Heer HBT Tunic...

Hi all,

I recently purchased this well-worn HBT tunic and would like to know if there is any way to trace the Unit/Division via the numbers stamped on the inside (see the photo below) since this one does not include the shoulder boards. I would like to replace the boards, but with a proper setI also welcome thoughts and opinions regarding it. This is my first HBT tunic, so I'm pretty excited about it.

Eagle looks like an early pattern to me but the tunic is a standard M42 HBT.

The "T" is the Depot mark for Tourin in Poland, 42 is the issue date and the rest of the numbers are size stamps.

If it was mine I would carefully iron it and put a nice pair of used (but not abused) NCO straps on it, but you could also opt for an older obsolete pattern as these were occasionally worn on this type of tunic.

Thanks Bochmann! What Division would you guess this belonged to, or is it a crap-shoot? Infantry?

Apologies, my previous post should have said Torun Poland.

I thought that maybe it was for Turin originally, hence my spelling mistake.

Do you think this is an Infantry tunic? Is there any way to tell?

No waffenfarbe on the collar tabs means that you have "carte blanche" to choose any colour that you want.

Please note also that Torun would have been within the borders of "Grossdeutschland" at the time as it was annexed from Poland.

You could choose a nice colour like red for artillery or you could go for an earlier pair with pips and metal ciphers, or, you could go wilth a bedraggled pair of infantrie straps as a salute to the poor unsung "landser" who was not the member of an elite but was always omnipresent on all fronts as it were - it's all in the matching - you don't have to make it complicated. Honest.

Eagle is mid to late war and is correct for this type of tunic, though not the only type seen on a HBT.

Hey, thanks so much guys for your feedback and advice. I guess now the challenge is to find a set that is somewhat tattered, which "should" help me save money as well If anyone has a set they think would look nice with this HBT tunic, please PM me. I'm definitely interested. The sooner I get this set up on a body form and accessorized the happier I'll be
