Old box of Nazi insignia and medals from my Grandfather.

Article about: by Wagriff I can see nothing wrong with the EKII Spange. It is a very nice Second Pattern unmarked nickel/silver plated EKII SPange. I would be more than fine with this example in my collect

Can you match it to a maker? I tried comparing it to ones
I have on file and couldn't but I am just really learning these.

If that is indeed a real Pocher decal then it should be carefully preserved! It may be one of the rarer items in the lot. NH

I believe that it is a "maker unknown", but they Do have an almost exact brother to it for sale at the Collector's Guild. Many of these Spanges are unmarked. Probably the most prolific maker of these was Deumer, but a Deumer Spange has very distinctly different claws on the eagle.

I think I found a match to the spange.
It looks like a match to my own that was made
by Ziemmer & Sohn. What do you think ?

Looks good to me! An unmarked Ziemmer it is then! Good researching!

For me, I see a difference in the numbers in the date box.

I know what you mean but I think the difference is that mine
was done with a scanner at a perfect straight on angle and the
other was taken with a camera at an angle from the botton
looking towards the top. That makes the spacing between
the letters and the date box look different and slightly skews
the shape.----at least that's my story

    Hi Greg,
They are close, no doubt but, I have marked the areas that I see a difference in. Some of these can be caused by lighting and angle but, I don't think that all of them can be. Maybe an early/late die?

Interesting! Late war/Early production variations? Or a totally different maker altogether do you think?

    Ralph,
The Ziemmer and Sohn style is the closest I can find.
I just emailed you 2 more pics of other Z-S spangen I
have on file. Please take a look.

I am just really learning these so I may be completely wrong.
