It appears that someone has removed a large label from the inner pocket of the type not seen on WWII German items. A good looking jacket but not TR period IMO.
its just an opinion.
It seems to me that I have seen advertisements for these jackets. They are Modern made and being sold as "German Style" coats and jackets. Apparently, if you like the Looks of a German coat but do not want to wear "Nazi" stuff, these jackets supposedly fill that need. If nothing else, they are well made and do look stylish, so if a person doesn't mind the occasional stupid comment or strange look, they look to be nice leather jackets.

It looks just like the one's the German police wore when I was stationed in Dortmund in the late 1960's. Nice jacket though!
Books published to date... 'Belfast Diaries: A Gunner In Northern Ireland'... 'A Tough Nut To Crack - Andersonstown'... 'An Accrington Pal: The Diaries of Pte Jack Smallshaw, September 1914 To March 1919'.
Im with Harry. The first thing that popped in mind was Germam police 1970's - 1980's.
Thank you for your opinions everybody, the help is really appreciated. Would you say the wool was original to the jacket or maybe added to give it that Nazi era look?
I have to add almost identical jacket worn by a West German Police K9 handler I knew in the 80's that would be my opinion also. Insignia on it I don't know about he had a patch sewn on his of BW police district. I think it has been many years ago. Nice jacket BTW. timothy
