Panzer Collar Tab help

Hello all!

I have what I believe to be a panzer division collar tab, which I have owned about 25 years. Is it authentic? I am including photos of both sides. I am trying to date it, and I cannot tell if the piping was originally pink or red, because it is somewhat faded. Let me know what you think!.Thanks!

Thanks! I think I paid $50 for it back in the day. Anyone have an opinion on the piping - pink or red? Pink would place it earlier, as I understand.

panzer piping is rose pink

Red i believe would denote Anti Tank. It looks red to me as pink would fade lighter with age. It is late war i believe due to the construction of the totenkopf.

Good original Heer tab as already stated. It is pink and pre war due to the wool piping and slightly darker pink shade.

Red is for Sturm Artillerie. (Not A/T)

Thank you Adrian I stand corrected. I thought i was told on here that the three pronged totenkopf was late war though?

It's a nice surprise to know that it is prewar Thanks for the input! As mentioned, I got this years ago - does anyone know what these are priced at now, in similar age/condition? I don't necessarily want to sell, but I am curious...(Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back!)

I think you are confusing cap badge with collar insignia. There are many different makers of Pz collar tab deathsheads and the pin arrangements varied from maker to maker.

I am very out of touch on prices of these sorry.
