Default Panzer Collar Tab Totenkopf - Clutchback?

    Hi All,
Was hoping to hear opinions on this Panzer skull. It was included with group of US items spanning pre-WWI through WWII.

It was essentially a throw in with the other items, so no loss if it's not authentic.

Some red flags for me is the clutchback. Also, looking at other known examples, I can't seem to find an authentic example with the same "high eyebrows".

    Thanks in advance!

These are normally hollow-stamped...The above item appears cast with a very sloppy reverse...
    cheers, Glenn

The back is terrible , either a bad repair or a cast fake as Glenn said .

By the way, here is everything that came with the lot. All were purchased from an estate sale by the person who sold them to me.

Thought there may be a chance with the skull considering the Mother's Cross, and assumed all of the WWII items may have been a part of a small group to a family member the WWI and earlier items are attributed to.

It looks to be a US style pin back , is it all one metal , or is it a metal skull backfilled with lead solder ?
    Cheers Chris

Maybe the veteran who got the skull converted it to a clutch back (possibly to wear?!?!).

    Thanks again, CBH.

Here are some additional photos. Appears the pin may be an add-on? Sorry, my main focus is US, so I haven't seen enough of these to know the proper construction. Doesn't appear to be all solder filling the inside, so leaning towards this being a cast. I could of course be mistaken, though.

Like I said, won't be too upset if this isn't authentic, however would definitely like to confirm if this is a $50 or $0.50 item

If it is real, which I think it could go both ways, I would probably ask around $25 because of the condition as well as the addition of the clutch back device on the reverse. Personally, I think it stands a chance of being authentic, but others may have differing opinions.

Thanks, Warbuff. I'll wait to see what others say. I'm happy with them regardless, especially since I never knew they were included with the group until after the deal with the seller had already been made.
