Looks to be an original, though it is suffering from the bullion degrading, which is a shame.

Are their any preservation methods that can be used to help with the corrosion?
I have several in similar and far worse condition.
Totaly love the look of these salty examples, but fear one day they will just rot away.

I have a few in similar condition and I don't know what can be done, I just try to keep mine sealed in a bag to exclude air, which should stop them from getting any worse.
