    Default Possible Grossdeutschland tunic?

Bought this a while back here on the forum, it's my first German tunic
I'm no expert on these, but from what I can gather, it is a stripped M40, and salty, just like I like them.

Now this one doesn't seem the be the typical anonymous M40, and is a bit of an interesting "mystery" to me.

One of the first things you may notice, is the big hole in the back, and the field repair.
My theory is that it is possibly an ex KIA/WIA tunic, there are tiny drops of blood inside the tunic outside the big part that has been replaced, can't tell if there has been more blood in the big repaired hole, as it is covered.
Looks to me like a small entry hole, and a big exit hole
What is really interesting, is that the "entry hole" has been field repaired with a very rare variant of the Zeltbahn.

On the right sleeve, there has definitely been a patch, possibly a Oberschütze patch?

On the left sleeve, there is a more faint ghost from what looks to have been a cuff title, but I can't be too sure, there has been something there, it is approximately 14,9 cm - 15 cm from the end, which I have been told is the same as a Grossdeutschland cuff title, or something else.

I can not quite make out what branch the collar tabs are, and can't find a proper reference, as they seem to change from uniform to uniform, but would this be infantry?

There seems to have been some mounts for awards as well, if I am not mistaken.

I seriously doubt that it was worn by a KIA. In that kind of condition before repairs it would have went into the dirt with the body.
My opinion is that it was worn post war as a work jacket and worn out. As for the discolored spots anybody's guess.

The repairs look more recent than the jacket, suggesting they were done long after the war.

Hard to see if there was a CT on it.

I admire your care for such an example, but way too salty for me.

Forgot to mention, the front(as far as I know) were repaired by the family before selling it, probably the back too, am heading to work in a second(picking up a M35 on the way :P ), so won't be able to check for a while, but I remember the front was sewn by hand, and the zeltbahn was done by machine.
