Hi Joe, and welcome to the forum!

The shade of Feldgrau could vary very much from grey to grey/green. It was never a standardised shade.

It was quite normal for an Officers cap or trousers to be a slightly different shade from that of his tunic.

    Cheers, Ade.

For the M36 Infantry officer service tunic:

    1. Normally Officer purchased their service tunic privately, so the quality standard are much higher than the Government Issue tunic.
    2. Most of the tunics’ color showing field-grey to grey green and the visor as well.
    3. The tunic features a vertical, five button or six button type.
    4. tunics have green backing to the basic tab.
    5. officers has bullion collar tab
    6. officers’ shoulder boards feature with matte silver braid with a single or double stamped, gilt washed, alloy rank pips.
    7. The tunic has four front pockets
    8. The interior of the tunic is fully lined in grey rayon with off-white striped sleeves

If I did miss or confused with anything please correct me, just will like to know more about the M36 officer tunic.
