Here is another armband I found.
It appears to be ink stamp on silk (or similar material)
Again, new to collecting and never seen this type
Thanks
Mark

A definite product of the 4th Reich Total fantasy and poorly produced.

Hi,
So is this confirmed to be a fake? I just bought one yesterday at a militaria show in Toronto. I asked the dealer and he said he didn't know if it was real or not. I took a chance and paid $15 for it.
Any further insight into this would be helpful.
Thanks.
Definately looks to be a bad one, look at the double hits on the lettering, poorly done, as for the dealer, if he was any good , he would have known straight away, im afraid he just wanted to get shot of it for any price
Thanks for the reply.
I assume this item was created to take advantage of the uninformed like myself.
Hi Jojo-
When a seller states that he does not know if an item is period original or not, that is always a red flag. It gives him a legitimate excuse not to offer you a refund. Of course, there are the rare occasion where a seller may sell a period piece as a reproduction. This happened several years ago at the SOS where a genuine SS tuxedo badge wsa found mixed among a grouping of reproductions. The 6K plus badge ws purchased for $25! This is of course the rare exception.
At the price, you were not stung badly. However, self education is the best defense in collecting 3rd Reich material. I am going to move this thread to the proper forum that deals with items from the military units.
