Roll of cloth ribbon

I was given this yesterday, Can any help to ID this ribbon I am not sure what to call it or what it would be used for.

Looks like ribbon for a ribbon bar. Not sure of the actual award it would go to yet

Doesn't look like military ribbon material to me - wrong construction
and weave. The cloth itself is more like banding or edging.
I believe the stamp was put on it to deceive.........

I have got a feeling its edgeing ribbon to strengthen a material.just my thought.

I think Steve and Harry are right, it doesn't look glossy enough for medal ribbon!...
