Hi Douglas, I think they are bad and made to deceive.
The base wool is original and what makes me think these are made up is this: take a look at the back where the two bits of cloth have been sewn together ( a usual waste saving exercise done in wartime) however, look close at the cloth in particular the wear/weave pattern about 1cm in from the end which folds, to me this shows the cloth was CUT them sewn back together to imitate the make do and mend style of manufacture.
I don't like the button holes nor the odd piping.
