Looks like a shirt eagle, though they do turn up on tropical tunics sometimes. Can you show the interior of the tunic where the eagle is attached?

    Whatever its just an opinion.

I will ask, but is the eagle real then?

Yes, but probably reapplied, though they have done a good job if it is. Most Luftwaffe tropical tunics you see have had the eagles reapplied and the original tunic eagles are hard to find and expensive if you can find one so cutting down a shirt eagle is probably something we will see more often.

It would still be good to get the interior pics if you can get them.

Here is a pic of the tunic, the pen is to keep sellers privacy. Does this look appropriate?

I think I know this seller. Ask him for a photograph of the interior of the tunic, specifically the area Bond is referring to, a picture of the stitching between the insignia and the tunic.

What should it look like, think it would look the same stitching wise, Shouldn't it? Not my topic of expertise that is for sure. Is there examples on this forum? Don't wanna be a pain here, but the tunic is beaucoup de dollars.

I still think it is reapplied and is probably a cut down shirt eagle. Even reputable dealers get it wrong IMHO. You might find it hard to find one with an originally applied eagle, as most you have see reapplied eagles and for Luftwaffe tunics it is the norm these days.

My Luftwaffe tropical tunic has a reapplied eagle and I have a mint unattached eagle in my collection, but it took years to find it, whilst the shirt eagles are more common, much cheaper and I have a couple of them as well.

I am unsure about this one, the colour matches on the stitching, eagle and tunic for age and wear. But in the end I think this may be a reattached eagle.
