    Transport patch? Cant help with the era.

    It's one from a series of trade/specialty patches for kraftfahrzeugtechnisches Personal der Instandsetzungsdienste [maintenance services' technical personnel for motor vehicles] introduced in 1943; this one is for a Vorhandwerker [senior craftsman].

    The four patches in this series represented different levels of qualification; the difference was in the cord edging:

    • patch without edging = Kfz- und Panzerwart II [automobile- or tank mechanic class II]
    • patch with pink edging = Kfz- und Panzerwart I [automobile- or tank mechanic class I]
    • patch with silver cord edging = Handwerker [craftsman]
    • patch with gold cord edging = Vorhandwerker [senior craftsman]


    I cannot comment on authenticity or value.

    Looks good. I have seen these in the 25 to 45 US dollar range. NH
