They are insignia for the tropical pith helmet, they look OK to me.

Both are modern fakes, though sadly the previous posters did not recognise them as such. They have the pitted fronts, pebbled reverse and soft soldered brass pins that are all wrong and are typical of this type of fake. I hope you have not bought them based on the previous posts.
