Are you sure about this stopwatch? What documented proof do you have, and can you provide much better pictures? Have a look at the attached picture of a 1960's era Nero Lemania stopwatch.

    Cheers,
    Steve

The numbers on the one I have are smaller also the dial on outside reads 0-60 how do they open to see a possible serial number etc.

These stop watches were widely used in the UK and it is a 1960's design. A simple search on the internet will tell you all you need to know about them. The stop watch illustrated below, was used by the BBC in the 1960's through to the 1990's, the numbers are the same as on yours. The back of the watch probably prises off by using a slim bladed tool.

As an aside, U 766 - a Type V11C, was commissioned on July 30th 1943 and Oblt Hans Dietrich Wilke took command of her. She had an undistinguished career and was decommissioned on August 24th due to battle damage. She was captured by the French in May 1945 and renamed 'Laubie'.. It would be interesting to see the documentation you have which supposedly links a 1960's stop watch to a WW11 U Boat.

    Cheers,

It would be better to post the original documents rather than the translations, a translated version is no proof of authenticity.
