I think the photos maybe deceptive, it's not a coat but tunic and pants.
And lucky, depends on how wants to view things, of three family members my Uncle ( Karl Stamp) was the only survivor

You are right. It's a collani.
And forgive me for saying you are lucky. I meant no offense. I was just referring to the militaria collectables. As a collector many times i overlook the bad side of the war and get carried away by the bright side: nice looking medals, valuable badges, great looking uniforms etc resulting in overlooking the fact that those things were worn by people who died during the war.

Hey what's the go there, I was drinking with some Australian & British SAS and they were offended by my drinking ouzo!!!!!! They said they couldn't stand the smell after having been in Cyprus.
